A foul wind blows As alone the old man sits Contemplating Wondering Lost in the supposition That his past was healthy For himself And those who surrounded Tears in their eyes Stinging with the pain of his actions As he sits Surrounded by the consequence His actions have brought unto him He vows to himself To all who might hear Never again Till the end of his days Will he have beans for lunch no... I am not doing any illegal substances...lol "...and as we drift along, I never fail to be astounded by the things we'll do for promises..." |

Brilliant! Especially the last lines, which, if I interpret them correctly, are saying that he doesn't see the reality of his actions. A very sad poem, but superbly executed. - Owl |

I will have to dispute that VERY last quote. This was endearing . . . I thought you were talking about your past and could relate. Until the beans. No wonder you are in that doghouse! |

Owl- Thanks for replying. I leave the interpretation up to you... THAT is what poetry is truly about. Sue- OK... maybe a few slightly questionable substances.... lol Thanks for the read. It is always appreciated. "...and as we drift along, I never fail to be astounded by the things we'll do for promises..." |
