 Artist: Thelma Leaney Butler This Silent Nite ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ +*+*+*+*+*+ In the stillness of this silent nite, Ebon skies reflect starry light. Snowflakes shimmer in slow descent, As townsfolk sleep in sweet content. Moonbeams dance on fallen snow, The homes are bathed in lunar glow. Upon each door is hung a wreathe, As peace prevails this Christmas Eve. A hush has fallen on village lanes, Trees are decked with candy canes. Carriage lamps illume the night, With their lambent, amber light. A lone owl hoots a soulful sound, That echoes thru’ our sleeping town.
