Friday the 13th Horror
To JB
13 May 2005

Tonight
shock peeled back
strips of your veneered normality
revealing momentary
psychotic mindrat flashes
that I could have missed
but didn’t
and the vengeance
in your snarl
which you covered badly
with a joke
chilled my skeleton
for hours
after you had gone.

Sometimes you think you know a person very well, and than there is an instance they react to with "psychotic mindrat flashes"
and their "veneer" wears thin, exposing a personality that could be violent...

Apparently this happened to you..

Your poem is a well done senario of that sort of thing happening, at least in my mind.

know this feeling, seen it a few times, yes you can think you know someone, then bam, somethings not right. but it could be you and not them, communication is so very important. knowing hurts and scars, sometimes something said brings out the bad, just as it could the good, and it left unhealed, emotions just come pouring out. i can understand both sides. i have seen it, felt it. lived with it. nice write.

My spirit will rise
above the sea~
There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~

Whew!  Yes, certainly powerful and  extremely well expressed. I hope it wasn't "a dark night" when this occurred.

eerily familiar
so sorry you've seen this scene
peelbacks are scary even when you are prepped for them

Thank you ice, McGroves, littlewing, bgi, Honeybunch, Earth Angel, gemjop and Midnitesun for your warm replies.

I had seen the mindrat flashes a few times before, so the surprise was more his showing them, rather than their existence.

Honeybunch, it probably was a dark night, but the flashes were just as he was leaving and on the other side of my security gate!

I’m sorry you had a similar experience, Earth Angel.

Thanks gemjop.  It was so creepy that the words just flowed.  I have written him a hate poem (a few years ago I think), but I would be very nervous to post it here as everyone seems to think I am so sweet and nice.  Perhaps I had better post it to put the record straight.  However, although the hate poem is vitriolic, the person who inspired it, inspired it.

Thanks Midnitesun for your concern.  However, I am glad I had the experience.  I have backed off from him before (actually many times, LOL! – he sounds important to me, but actually he isn’t – he was a long time ago, but not now) and I sorta forget how bad things are until I am reminded.  I don’t think he will ever want to darken my door again, so that is a good thing.

post it...vitriole can be positive
the 'flames' it contains just might help burn his urges out of existence
