Are you as sensual
as your poetry suggests
or is it just an illusion,
like your words?
If I propose to meet you
would you become afraid?
or are you as brave
as the words you write?
Would our restaurant be as romantic
as promised in your lines
would your love for me be as passionate
as the passion in your rhymes?
Are you as handsome
as the person that writes
could you make me desire
long romantic nights?
Are your kisses as soft
as you would have me believe
or are they so cold
as to make my heart grieve?
Would you treat as gently
as your poetry imparts
or would you leave me crying
with a broken heart?
Are your promises as sincere
as your poetry suggests
or are they just images in your mind,
are you as cruel as in some of your verse
or are you really, very kind?
And does your heart
beat with a passion so rare
or are you someone
who just doesn't care?
Can you tell me truthfully
that you've seen all manner of things
from the floors of the oceans,
to Saturns rings?
Or are you just a dreamer,
a weaver of prose
a writer of illusion
a magician, in poets clothes?

I enjoyed this piece..made me stop and think.
As a writer many things are just an illusion.
How do we really know what the person behind the words if really like.

Speaking for myself...I am just me, and moreso in my poetry! Enjoyed this...made me wonder who you are writing this to. I hope you get truth in reply.

You will have to determine the truth of whom you write. As for me, what you see is what you get ... and that is true for most of us that have written more than 200 works

Kinda hard to hide your true self for that long a period of time...
