Got me those
Folsom Prison Blues
and like the man said,
I've done some time
or two.

Naked and alone,
stranger to my skin ~
need to dive in
see what lurks inside.

Find me some brainfood.

It's good for the soul, you know?

Seems I sold mine ~
penny whore on the corner
for a crust of bread,

and yet I remain
in constant hunger ~

for a cross in my pocket
a locket
of tobacco for the ghosts
gusts of smoke
to ward the spirits,

seems to work fine
in times like these,

In times of need . . .

Or maybe it's just Christmas.

Sometimes we are able to borrow some brainfood from others...

Sometimes they have so much they don't even miss it..

That is why it is good to have friends.

"maybe it's just Christmas"  I hope so Sue.

I really like this poem. What i took from it at least- was that sometimes, it's hard to get a full grasp on who you are. I really enjoyed this part-
"Naked and alone,
stranger to my skin ~
need to dive in
see what lurks inside."
well worded
thanks for this poem.

Hey Susan . . . yes, just a good ending to how I happened to be feeling and the brainfood I have gleaned from each of you is enough to keep me nice and fat!

Deja - you nailed it and thank you.

Now Karen, I love being in your head, its full of so much wonder and beauty.  I was holding this one for a bit, too - was not sure what to call it - am glad you liked it and I looked on that smiley face, it is called Exorcist  *smile*  I didn't know that - I took it.

Thank you so much Star!

Raph?  Ya gotta go see Walk the Line, you just HAVE to.  And thank you - I wish I had half of what flew around in his head.

Thank you Mari, and ya mean gifted as in helmet yellow school bus gifted, right?
*grin*

Michele?  Thank you . . . soup for the soul, eh?  That would be one seriously messed up book.

Thanks guys.

There are indeed more than one kind of prison

and one kind of prisoner

Even those dressed in brighter colors can be constrained by "dark"

The movie left itself open to finish up
the rest of his life....

and what a life....

Thank you for this, Suzie...

I saw the movie a couple of weeks ago...

and I encourage all of you to see it.

Even if you don't like him...you'll appreciate their love story.

Let us hope, it is just Christmas this year
Suzie.

Hey, my 13 year old went to see this movie twice and before that the only time she knew who Cash was, was when I showed her his video to "Hurt"..
and she said it(the movie) was really good, which blew me away...
and I didn't even see it once yet...

The man, is missed much
the older he got, the better his music.

You know I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die... LOVE THIS!! That's all my vocab allows me these days. Enjoyed this as usual. I know how more original can I get??
