         Anniversary

    We married on this day
      in nineteen forty eight.
    Now I am left alone
      to celebrate.

    So many years ago,
      and yet just yesterday.
    The end came much too soon,
      To say goodbye.

    Now that we are apart.
      It matters not,
    He is still lingering
      within my heart.

Noah, Linda and Nancy ~~ Thank you. I am not feeling sad, but it hit me that this was our day. Yesterday was so busy, I had almost forgotten. Sitting here tonight it dawned on me. This was OUR Day! So yes, the saddness fades, the memories linger on. thank you for sharing your feelings. martyjo
