Sometimes Moody

I try to think of how it felt to be loved,
that first love when you were on top of the world
and the taste of happiness
was your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

When you had an "our song"
and danced so close
that your heartbeats
became one and no one led or followed.

It's my choice to be alone for now,
to not take in mistakes,
to take care of the whole of me,
even though the struggle takes its toll
and paints me sometimes moody.

You can tempt me,
can touch me to ecstasy
but that thin veil remains to question,
to waver in illusion
of the forever and the after's.

I am gifted with my thoughts,
if nothing else,
tranquil thoughts of when tomorrow
becomes mine~~

M

i wanted to find one specific line,
that spoke to me most.
what i did end up finding
was that it wasn't just
one line.
wonderful.

Maureen, your title pulled me in, because if I
am anything of late, it is moody!! Sometimes I
can't even seem to stand myself!!

I do believe this is one of your best yet, though
all of yours are wonderful. You are a very talented writer.
Hugs,
Ethel

Ethel, I know the feeling...sometimes I want to hide from myself.

Jo, I sometimes wonder if I expose too much of my feelings...but that is what has kept me sane these last few years~~

I think for all, when that first love goes away, for whatever reason, a sense of doubt or perhaps self-protection, always lingers.
Hope for tomorrow is always worthwhile.
This is a very nice read!  Very insightful to your thoughts.  Ken

I know how you feel. I have been thinking along those lines, too.

M, this one breathes the breath of reality...
I think I remember how it felt, the first time I was loved/rejected.
And I do understand the need to protect your heart, if only for a short time, from all that Love can require when you are not ready to give it freely.
