Wee Elf, Wee Elf, where can you be?
Please come out, don’t hide from me,
Mrs. Claus was getting worried
As about North Pole she scurried,
Looking here and looking there,
Mrs. Claus looked everywhere,
She called out to all the elves,
Put your tools back on their shelves
And start helping me find Wee,
I’m getting scared, where can he be?
All the reindeer, they helped too,
Even Fred, the caribou,
Looking high and looking low,
In the toy shop; in the snow,
Even in stockings by the tree,
But alas, there was no Wee.

I think right now I’ll take a pause,
And make note of Santa Claus,
He’s not been mentioned in this ode,
Yet North Pole is his abode,
Wee Elf and Santa are mighty tight,
And Santa not looking just seems not right,
A simple answer does exist,
Why Santa’s presence has been missed,
Old Saint Nick each day at four,
Takes a nap with mighty snore,
When Santa sleeps and is awoken,
He gets cranky, harsh words are spoken.

Back to the poem and back to Wee,
To seek an answer where Wee might be,
Mrs. Claus said to herself,
I must tell Santa about Wee Elf,
With hesitance walked towards the snore,
That roared out of Santa’s door,
Knock, knock, knock, with shaking knees,
Wake up Santa if you please,
Then all the sudden at the door,
Stood Santa Claus, but still the snore,
Emanated from the room,
Sounding like a sonic boom,
Said Mrs. Claus, how can this be,
Santa’s standing here with me,
Santa said, Shhooosh, not a sound,
When I went to nap, look what I found,
Sleeping in my favorite chair,
All curled up, right over there,
Mrs. Claus she took a peek,
At the chair, gave out a shriek,
It’s Wee Elf, that’s where he’s been,
Then Wee let loose a snore again,
A snore so loud it caused a draft
Mrs. Claus, she up and laughed
Which woke Wee up who looked to see,
Mrs. Claus who said to Wee,
Now we know where you have gone,
Wee Elf stretched and yawned Wee yawn.

Tim this was just delightful!  I wondered if you do have more as it does show XVIII,   if you would mind sharing them in the Holiday Forum, for everyone to read over the holidays to their families?  I would love to use these for a read on Christmas Eve, and thank you for a GREAT read!  We need more whimsical in these distressing times.
