winter wears her long shirt dawn in white wool she could be the trees at a mountain hem but she is the ice song that strums from teuton's mouths perhaps the vikings know her northerns they are there in long ships at the bay they are children's corks floating but they wear their wooden shields like rows of unbuttoned eyes that search the morrow's morning to know the hollow of her ribs when she is odinary in her chanting ____________ daark |
