A Mothers Love In The Early Morning Mists Before the sun starts to rise I think of you, my child I hold in my heart Those precious moments When you were first born Each day was such a joy As I watched you grow Learning new things I gave you all the love A mother has to give Doing all I could do to Protect you from all harm There were things you wanted I just couldn’t afford to get You didn’t understand The pain I felt inside It was my greatest desire To grant your every wish You held it all against me Saying those awful words Still today, my child I love you just the same As I did that special day When you were born

Ah Sue, you did the best you could & she will understand that when she too is a mother. I went through the same thing with my daughter - raising her on my own from the time she was 11. Love always finds a way. Be well my friend, hugs, ChrisPoetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. ~Carl Sandburg

Sue, I understand this so very much. As you may remember from my earlier posts, my daughter and I had no contact for many years because of my now deceased husband. When I learned the computer and got on the internet, I found her. We now talk often on the phone and both of us would LOVE to see each other, but don't have the money to travel the thousand miles between us. I know one day we will, though, because the Mother-daughter bond is still there. I'll bet it is with you and your daughter too.
Just hold on and things will work out one day for you and her. Heart Hugs, Ethel

Know exactly the heartache you're feeling. Sometimes, they just have to learn things the hard way and there is no other way around this.....love is the hardest thing to learn. Hoping this child wakes up, just like I hope mine does. ....jo

Sue, I hadn't read a poem of yours for some time, so I went looking for one and found this treasure that I had missed.
If it is any consolation, my youngest tried my patience when she was going through her teens. ~ and apparently, I tried hers!
Now that she is a young woman, she has a newfound appreciation of her Mom! ~ Me! We both can now laugh when we look bact to those trying times!
She and I are the best of friends and I am very proud of the woman she has become. In time, I hope the same for you and your daughter.
Your poem was a beautiful expression of a Mother's love.
