her legs were crossed with her clothes pressed so tight to her skin, leaving imprints for the rest of the day. she liked the feeling of clothes on her skin tight secure pressed in place she felt safe this was all she felt safe in. she was a writer pen pressed in hand paper pressed on lap pressing, always pressing. when she breathed the air was embedded on the page like a footprint in wet cement she left her mark. pressing, everything was pressed. she emptied her organs on the page till she was left she thinks the word 'soul' sounds cliche so she says organs organs pressed on a page she's scared. she's scared of the potential everyone thinks she has what if it doesn't exists what if she wastes her life trying to pretend she has something that could be great potential potential what if her hardest what if her potential isn't good enough. pressing, everything is always, so, pressing. |

potential, talent, gift; words intended as compliments but they can really be weights. hard enough maintaining and nurturing that potential to meet your expectations, let alone theirs. write because you want to, not because you have to, and everything falls into place |

I can well understand the feelings expressed in your poem but, gosh, if I could write like you, I wouldn't be worried at all. Let everything be "pressed" according to how YOU like it because it all irons out in the end, the very end. |

I think you have touched on some very common feelings most of us have had at times. Patience and perserverance are the larger percent of potential, I think. Very thoughtful and expressive writing. *hugs*....jo |
