My Melancholy Blues

Seems to only happen
Whilst yearning for you
I know I never invited
This melancholy blue

Still have to rise above
The wistfully sad mood
Without any invitation
It continues to intrude

Visits from melancholy
Arrives to get me down
Feelings once flowing
All of a sudden drown

In sneaked melancholy
As my tears silently fall
Self-esteem it steals
Making me feel small

So here my lonely heart
Sings melancholy blues
Nothing to write about
It even stole my muse
