Listening to every heart

Still

days lead days, all long gone by
when first you searched into my eyes
looked deep and fell into my soul
and passed from young onto the old

still I mesmerize you

you say ‘tis so, my eyes still glow
of love and life and laughter fine
and you say how can it be so
that rare am I as fine aged wine

still I inebriate you

you attempt to quietly understand
this aging woman in your embrace
calmly gaze with fond desire at
the feathered lines about my face

still I puzzle you

emotions rampant run within
most thin the essence of my skin
and deep the well of love to find
when you whisper, “come, be mine”

still I mystify you

know that forever there will be a “still”
as wildflowers come to springtime’s hill
as passion bends thus to loving will
there shall always be the “still”

in the still of the night
in the silent of embrace
in the still of always
in the tranquil of grace

there shall be this still for you
the one that mesmerizes and inebriates
the puzzle of the mystery
there shall always be the still of me

long until tomorrow

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Martie, I had need to visit the archives today, and when I ran across this one, for special reasons, saw names on it of poets that can no longer respond, except, in heart, and in archives....

We were fortunate enough to see their names once; we are even more blessed to know that their names will live on in our archives...like a great networked library...lives will live on...and words will live on....

and emotions...will be forever strong, in all that was given to us....

Chris?

Thank you, my dear...for coming home from the summer, to grace our winters....

you shine upon all with love.

So beautiful, Sunshine.  Still.  Oh, yes.  Understanding this.  Think I'll tuck it away in my library...

Hugs for this keeper~Nancy

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

Karlea, this is really beautiful. I stopped  in for a moment, for a refreshing break or a smile ... and I got both, along with a deep and appreciative sigh. This is just lovely.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Wonderfully done! For not being a mushy type of person this touched my heart.
