Lost Love

Though days and weeks and months, have come and gone,
Without the comfort found within your kiss,
The memories of what we shared live on
And haunt my nights with ghosts of love amiss.
Reliving love gone wrong through gifts of care
You’ve blessed me with in times forever lost,
Would burden me far more than I could bear
As evidence of love and all its cost.
Forgive me then my love for being weak,
But how could I be strong without you near?
Your strength is mine and all we share unique,
While living loss would be a life of fear.

But though I strive within to let you go,
You’re still the best of all I’ll ever know.

~William,

You have a tender, and romantic heart,
one I like peeking into!

~Thanks for the peek!

I love sonnets. And I loved this one. Good work.

Not many of those around these days...

Pity.

Ah, we see so few sonnets here....and that's our loss, because it's one of the few rhymed poetry forms that still has any appeal outside the English Department.  Well done!
