Sometimes life will bring a man to choices he can't change; and through the years locked in his step so very long, they come to haunt his soul. There is a man so taken by the past he sees what isn't there; ghosts of evil in the ceiling, terrors at the bolted door. It is too late for him, and yet you love; if he could change, find peace within and make a peace with you... I found a place of quiet and reflection, where the forest holds back time itself by changing every moment, by drawing every traveler on from wonder into wonder.... Alone within that quiet wood I made another prayer the way Hawaiians do, a hopeful prayer of leaf and stone, and placed it there for him, for you. ~~8~~ I haven't spoken of my four Ti prayers to anyone for whom -- or about whom -- they were made. This one I can speak of now...yes lady, it was for your father. Here are the others: /pip/Forum93/HTML/001231.html |

Ed~ Did you know that some among us knew ? I can say that I did ... but then maybe there are many who would be able to lay claim to the beauty of your thoughtful prayers~ This will, no doubt, be of great comfort to our friend in her time of seeking peace for a weary heart~ Thank you ... foreverly ... for being exactly who you are~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ I LOVE leatherheads ~*No matter what I search for ... |

Yes... I knew. *S* And I just thought I was grateful then... now... now I can't even begin to tell you how much this means to me.... for I will always love him... and miss him... and be glad I'm his. It is hard sometimes for us to even imagine, much less understand all that forged a man. But now... all those ghosts are at rest... from the deserted child to the memories of Normandy and Dora-Nordhausen to the loneliness of losing brothers, sisters, wife and friends. I think the peace of his last few days might well be due to prayers such as this... I thank you with all my heart. |

Ratleader, Couldn't end the year without checking out your library and without sending up a few. One of the things I like best about this poem is the sensitivity and compassion shown to a special friend. "and reflection, where the forest holds back time itself by changing every moment, by drawing every traveler on from wonder into wonder...." misc |
