On the heated sands of the Negev Desert, I stood next to you, silently, head lifted tentatively to receive the touch of your hand, offered with a gentleness I’d never known before or since. Pushing aside the sheer face veil worn solely to protect my fairness from scorching slaps of the fiery desert sun, you exposed much more than my pale visage. The penetrating gaze of your soft brown eyes infused me with the warmth of a mind and soul which saw past my fragile defensive outer layers as if they were transparencies, revealing a soul that yearned for the fires of pure passionate love. My heart beat erratically with Eros thoughts, nearly bursting from its holding place in wanton anticipation. But we were not destined to be, you and me, although I knew in my heart you wanted me as I wanted you. And the heat of that moment still burns deeply within the core of me, even as I feel the coldness of distance and time encircling my body, these treasured memories of your touch keep me warm. |

Whew... all of romantic and sexy imagery, scorching, indeed (and not from the desert heat) But alas... But we were not destined to be, you and me, although I knew in my heart you wanted me as I wanted you. Too bad. Thinking of a brief encounter of what could of been. Enjoyed! |
