pine-scented gusts whiplash a cheek blunting sensation
toes dipped in icy, scintillating brook, tickled to divine numbness
flaming, autumn leaves under a hesitating foot scrunched in final release
ominous clouds shrouding questioning peaks, silent envoys, indubitable
a path to a waterfall frosty mist descends lingering, prophetic
ah, only to be back again.....

As someone who's lived his whole life in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains and loved them just as long, I appreciate this. I love autumn in my state...as beautiful as this poem. Thanks for this."The moon ain't romantic, it's intimidating as hell". -- Tom Waits, 'Bad Live and a Broken Heart'

soul drifter - now I envy you....
I love the mountains, I could live there all the time. The most incredible beauty, balanced by the harshest environment, especially in winter time. Thank you.
Sharksbean - thank you for reading and commenting.
