The jury has delibrated, And found the accusations to be true. He's jailed for a crime he did not commit, And I'm the only one who knew. The people cry for blood, They want this man dead. Governor's up for re-election, He will see that he has his head. I thought the truth would come out, Twisted by the prosecution. Now another victim awaits, His untimely execution. He speaks to his family one last time, He get his last rights and meal. He cries to a God he doesnt beleive in, He wonders if all this is real. The guards walk him down the hall, strap him tightly to the chair. they make sure he is in there tight, He can feel the death in the air. The clock is ticking, Only a phone call can save his soul. He knows the phone isnt gonna ring, The governor is playing his role. The warden gives, The executioner the sign. There is a short silence, As everyone knows its time. They pull the switch, The energy rattles his bones. He starts to rith in pain, As he sits in the chamber alone. His body still smoking, His soul in a better place. I know he wasn't angry with me, I can't look him in the face. I am sorry you had to suffer, I know you didnt commit the crime. Justice wasnt served, The killer will do no time! Only I know the truth, Of who the real killer is. I would have done anything, How could I be called a witness. I'm sorry you had to die, I really do feel for you. I know it doesnt really help, but remember I was murdered too. |

If written from a real life event for you, how terribly, terribly sad. (but a well written piece) |

Thank you all for the kind words. I actually got the idea for this after I watched the sixth sense. My mind just sort of wandered off...and I ended up here. |

Wow, that's so funny, because I was about to say that your twist at the end reminded me of an M. Night Shyamalan movie. Very touching, and thought provoking. Well done you. *Meredith I'm not your type, |
