If thou could see thee through my eyes,
and thine soul through thyself-
O sweeter doth the morrow cometh
which portrays thine features from the sun,
Ere awaits the maiden of night preying-
thou art wilted like the rose!
seeing death before the birth.

Time hath not taught of touch,
nor see the sigh’s of heaven’s silent tongue-
some beauty peers through the wounds
the carcass of a caterpillar now none,
turned from youth to age to beauteous-
oft did butterflies become the waking of thoughts
upon the sickened swollowed in tears.
That season to want, to see, to feel!

Who will woe the Woe’d-
and look out windows like winter’s day
seeing beauty in the whiteness,
Picturing what is not yet seen-
divert thine eyes! See upon the people
some poor, some old, some young behold!

Their view is of the gaze and joy is on the face,
to see a smile and smile back be seen-
to see none of either smile and sense their smile within
weeping alone is set upon the memory of togetherness,
To crack the heart upon the code-
and enter though the sleeper doth not know
bid thy sin be forgiveness.

Those Oft bath’d in tales of the heart,
telling foe’s and friends alike-
and oft get the unwitted laugh
took a soul and left it bleeding in the gutter!
So be it false blood! But blood none the less-
Thou regrets nothing but the cries
and heaven’s rage shall be known to thee.

And of me what goes on in the place none do see,
this heart is old and weak beyond it’s days-
still lonesome it waits for the inked name
to be tattooed upon the spine of the heart,
Be it not the kiss I think be most fitting-
than the knowing of a lover in my arms
let everyone feel what I hoped long ago.

and give them what I do not deserve;
a heart upon heart and lips upon lips-
a piece of love that most have never seen.

What passion!

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”

Absolutely loverly!  I haven't read a poem like this in some time, and realize it has been too long.

this took my breath away...

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

When you have the language to match the romantic feel (and you do), the result is stunning. Brilliant work it took my breath away.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
