~Our 'night blooming' Cactus~
*I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer
so she opened up her blooms fully after
I'd closed my eyes for the night*

~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

Dear Marge:  This would be worth staying awake for.  Or setting your alarm, so you could see it!  Gorgeous!

Dear Marge

This is 'blooming' wonderful!  That is the English coming out of me!  Eh! Eh!

I've never seen a night blooming cactus before.  Such a treasure to behold!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful flora!

Thank you, that we did not ALL need to stay awake so long to see it, captured here in its semi-glory.

Thanks everyone ... by way of 'explaining' ... I stayed up until only 10:30 trying to get her photographed in full bloom ... she was being obstinate ... but I felt she was STILL beautiful enough to share~

Grabbed (believe it or not) a FLASHLIGHT in one hand .... camera in the other and sneaked right up on her~

Do the blooms close up after the flash?

Just curious.  You not only write beautifully, Marge, but you obviously have alot of fun with the physical imagery.  You have a lot of energy, don't you?

Missed you in here back then ... thank you my friend~

JM~
Thank you for the bump on this one~
No, the flash doesn't seem to disturb here at all ... (I think she likes it)
The blossom opens around midnightish and closes when the sun peeks in the morning~
This Night Blooming Cereus bloomed twice for us this year~
Here is another poem link on her second blooming~
