Each Tick Each tick that tocks my daily clock Slips a stitch from out my frock That lends unto a leaner lace One less moment in this place And when the wick stood sending light I gathered up the threads at night And wove a shelter for each dawn And mixed it with the dew of morn Painted it with hues of sky All the colors in its lie Weaving it with ties of bond And knotted it with knots of fond It wears me well the weathers grime Considering the space of time And I repair it patiently Against the clocks reality For each tick that tocks my clock Slips a stitch from out my frock |
