Is She There? |

Is She There? The whispers of her footsteps brush my ear And rouse a dormant well of bridled need. A moment's pause will still the sudden fear, That surely, with her presence, must recede. Do lilacs tease these senses gingerly, Or is my love a fevered touch away? Is this her shadow striking vividly, Or just a haunting phantom of dismay? But slowly do my eyes discern the face That satiates the hunger in my soul. And with one firm yet wonderful embrace We two, once incomplete, are rendered whole. And then we lie in paradise regained, To share love never blemished, marred or stained. |
