I am simple I am complicated I wonder what it is that I really want I hear lamentations in my head I see roses in my eyes I want the deep burn of serenity I am simple I am complicated I pretend that I am the happiest I could ever be I feel wheels turn me against the grain I touch midnight without the moon I worry I’ll lose my inner child I cry to understand myself I am simple I am complicated I understand what goes round comes round I say take each day as it comes I dream that I live as my true self I try to nudge that dream to life I hope that this all makes sense I am simple I am complicated |
