One thousand days since last we met
upon my golden hill of dreams
one thousand nights have passed, and yet
ten thousand more to me it seems.

One thousand early morning cups
my coffee grows cold as I wait
for something more, a sign from him
that tells me it is not too late.

He loves me and he loves me not
a schizophrenic kind of love
a man so warm, with heart of ice
no telling what his soul's made of.

One thousand nights of missing him
and yearning for him, far away
we once were closer than the rest
but nothing in his heart would stay.

One thousand days of bitter tears
blended in tandem with his lies
one thousand days to lose a dream
and nothing left to do but die.

Hey you:  ...or there's always "A Thousand-And-One Nights" to pass the time.  Perhaps there is some solice in the faith that in the next life things will be better on the next go-round...   to you.

Cat~
It is really nice to see you here~

The penning is sadly melancholic ...
but even if the dream has died ...
you are very much alive to dream again~
And as Cinderella sang, "A dream is a wish your heart makes."

Have a beautiful, safe and Happy 4th~

Oh Lord Cat, it is so good to see you here again. You have not lost your talent dear lady. This is so poignant and something I can so identify with...
but this is such a showing of your beautiful heart.

Thank you for visiting hon, hope all is well with you.

Well, it's quite apparent
there's a contingent of poets
who have missed your pennings...

welcome home, Cat. As one of
my favorite poets says...

Oh, you all have made my day, with your kind words. They have been sadly lacking. Thanks.

sad and aching.... good to see you here....

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

"One thousand days of bitter tears

the rhythm of this is perfection.  Loved it.

Sandra...very sad and feeling poem but yet, I think the 1000 days is significant, too.  Perhaps, it's a 1000 days to get him out of your system, and my hope is something new will be born.   ....jo
