old pewter becomes a listening booth for sublime mists of enlargement golden laughter of ice-melts smiling, effortless balance like the qualities of a hero eating grape leaves of perception whose verse can make rocks! but a step in a struggle to be reborn like the little eye in everywhere lapping at our feet without explanation backwater drop, licks innocence battered by the blows of vocation in stiff footsteps, not two feet away malaise echoes for one superhuman ocean deepened flights, flushed with blood carry some darkness which we lie down with but in a cascade of deep blue chairs and late nights i exist beyond the gaze of summer shadows drowning in violin mountain springs rising up to smolder serene washing rooms with light pulling an all nighter in the breakfast chain where i ponder clear fast moving streams leaving a scent of daffodils tickling me to death “is there any better tool”? i ask green leaves stain my fingers i’m amazed at how lawn chairs drift into nothingness becoming candles of even tide that’s the kind of life this is, ya know? with forearms like soccer moms foregoing fear, it closes it’s eyes & sets me at the entrance of some afternoon |
