In the deepest recesses of my thoughts alone I listen carefully to all soft tones Of ancient laughter, sobs and cheers Stillness of voices I silently hear. I recognize family, mother, father, friend Some make me smile, some I don’t comprehend Even today, after years of what was once heard Their chatter takes on the twittering of birds. But in the darkness, in moonlight soft and quiet The Whisperings present a tumultuous riot. Wondering faintly, is this my conscience speaking Or the sound of angels’ wings, as they are peeking? I know these Angels are around, I feel them in my heart Whispering quiet and low, soft, and never sharp Asking one another if they have guided me right Gently beseeching Him to keep me in his light. Children know their Angels’ Whispers, but forget them as they grow That the Angels will keep them in their glow, Whether troubled, happy, or seemingly ruined in kind Nevertheless, angels stay, whispering hope to their minds. Is it “Conscience” or Angels’ Whispers, do you think? Which would give you comforting smiles? I think it is my Father’s voice in guise of an angel, Taking care of me all this while. So keep Whispering on, my Angels dear And guide me with your thoughts of care Knowing that you trust me to step throughout My Father’s world, and his creations dear. You must surely know how much I would appreciate a poem such as this!  Yes, He speaks to you and the angels are His messengers. Never stop listening, Dear One. You are raising the vibration of mankind through the gift of your poetry and your sharing of the Divine within you. For those that have read, and those that replied... this is the very first post I placed over on the main page, albeit now revised. I am the first to admit...I suck at metered verse. However...my heart is there, with its own misguided beat. This particular poem has given me much pleasure over the years and recently it "came back to me" from a young person in Kenya, who was trying to open his area of life with poetry - and be able to share it with others. He wrote me in response to a similar poem on the Main Pages, and it brought me down about this many notches...because his sincerity rang so true. But frankly, he was glad to read of the belief that others around the world might hold - and that he might be able to take something from Passions to share with his family, friends and neighbors. While Passions is a Part of my world, it is not my whole world. Has it lifted me to gear toward higher dreams? Absolutely!!! Has it given me a multitude of neighbors and friends I never knew existed? Positively! Have I been blessed in ways I never expected? God, let me count the ways.... So, while my meter needs a good going over with a da-dum da-dum da-dum lesson... I would like to thank everyone here who has welcomed, accepted, lifted, inspired, blessed, and loved me as a sister and a friend. Poets' areas have come and gone in the last six years. Passions grows stronger with every day. Because of you. And? Because of Ron. |
