As Night Dies
“speak now, or nevermore”

tell me again
you love me,

drawl the vowels, redlit
‘neath the tongue’s clay pit,

receding, the secret thresholds
sprawl their tremors
over the haunch, descending
into my spine, you hold
all the currents of a river, at bay,

in pangs, as I lay on absence,
a lullaby, under the tides
of a white, frozen moon,
closing the wounds a quiver
in the inner equilibrium,

rippling, the brute bulk
of jaws, as you cradle a keep
in the taupe arms of July,
I, all in butterscotch
swatches of soil,longing

for the fruit
of all this giving,
all in glass, amber
rasps against a lit emptiness,
and in the house

blooms, a hoaxer’s garden
of votive bouquets
and bridegrooms, taken
for granted in this scant
slant of light,

as I wait
as I wait,
as I wait,

in the swan arch of doorways,
dovewhite, the bow-legged certainty

of the body, burgeons,
its battered ecstasy, an agony
you heal with solely a kiss,
the clock slows, so far
from midnight, this

longing dovetails through the sandglass
in tantrums, racked all in black

a-gain, as night dies
on my lips.

you collapse me with these lines...

amazing how healing one kiss
slowed in time and held in midnight
can bring such bliss...

I love the way you write.

I really want to care,
I want to feel something,
let me dig a little deeper
nah, still nothing~
my give a DAMN is busted. Jodee

What words are there after that!  I am in awe.  I yield to your words, M'Lady.  Beautifully written...feelings astonishgly evoked.

Just found another image that stayed with me most of the day...

quote:
tell me again
you love me,

drawl the vowels, redlit
‘neath the tongue’s clay pit,

and every time I thought of it...

well, um...
