Theatrical Screening
~*Marge Tindal*~

As the soft-of-sun began to yawn
twi-of-night streaked ‘cross the lawn
Ric Rac Cactus burst forth in bloom
heady in fragrance of sweetest perfume~

For two years she sat there preening
just for this theatrical screening
Captured the spotlight for just one night
But, by golly … she sure got it right~

When the morning sun rose in alarm
She threw a perfumed kiss of adorn
Exited stage left … with a wink to me
"I always leave ‘em wanting more, you see ?"~

~Ah, she was worth the wait~
Officially named - "Epiphyllum Cryptoscerus Anthonyanus"
I just call her Queenie

Marge,

Both, your poem and the long awaited bloom center, deserve center stage!  We have had a plant in our family for probably 70 or 80 years.  During that time, we've only been privileged to see it bloom a half dozen times or so...  Like yours, it was worth the wait.

This brings back special memories.  I am gently tucking this away in my library.  Thank you for the wonderful gift.

Extraordinary, Marge!  We had a plant like this that only bloomed once in a blue moon.  I think I only saw it once, but it sure was worth it.  This one is lovely, like its tendor!   ....jo

I know these cacti, but after reading and viewing this beautiful presentation, I will forever think of her as "Nora Desmond".

ready for her close-up, Mr. DeMille...

Enjoyed.

Dear Marge, you have caught the ephemeral charm of this flower so graciously!

I bow to the beauty of this Divine flower and to you, poetess, who made this moment last into forever.

Love and hugs.

How lovely! *S* Some things are definitely worth the wait... even when the wait is long and the pleasure brief. *S* Beautiful!
