Just when I can sigh with freedom
and enjoy life as its supposed to be...
You slither back into my life no knowing who and what I have become.
Like a snake out for its pray
on a vengence not knowing where to
go but to the past.
Ruthless and with a hint of desperation you slither toward what you think is weak.
Burning bridges down the pathway as you go.
You have seeked me out.
You strike at me with hopes of cowering down to you like I always did.
Trying to poison me with what used to be.
Behold, there is no weakness, no cowering and no forgiveness.
Those memories, the talking, the promises
all running through my head as if drums are banging loud.
I feel like you are coiling every inch
around me and I cannot breath.
As I close my eyes,
I can hear you hissing and smell the scent of cigarettes.
I cringe as you brush those scales against my skin.
"Leave me alone." I whisper.
Your grip becomes tighter as if touching my heart
seems the only way back in.
You release and I am free once again.
I smile with a sigh of freedom
And enjoy life as it supposed to be.......
