(just another) day in the life

Just another pipsqueak punk rock band
Just singin' the same thing over again
Just another heartbreak; just another heartache
Just another song about the same old mistakes

Just another notebook filled up with hurts
Just like the last time, but just a little worse
Just another conversation about what we did wrong
Just another permutation of the same old song

Just before the time i was just another guy,
it was just you and i til there was some other guy
And now i'm just jealous of all your little friends
'cause you say you're "just friends" 'til you're sleepin' with them

And it's just another time to sit at home and whine
about being alone on a Saturday night
And it's just another scar that you're leavin behind
Just another way to say the same things twice

i just need one more time
to either tell you i'm sorry or to tell you goodbye
Just one more time
to figure it out or make things justified
i just can't say that i just can't wait
to get us back on track again...
Just one more time...
to be just another day in the life.

Just another pipsqueak punk rock band
overplayed on the radio, and i can't stand
to make sense of these break up songs ten times a day
and if i could just find the words, then i'd know what to say.

Just another try, another reach for the sky,
but we're falling apart for all the same reasons why
You say your love is fierce, but you're riddled with fears
and i just can't believe you when you just disappear

and i just need one more time
to either tell you i'm sorry or to tell you goodbye
Just one more time
to figure it out or make things justified
i just can't say that i just can't wait
to get us back on track again...
Just one more time...
to be just another day in the life.

these words are just words
that'll never be enough
...they might mean something
if we ever grow up
But for now close your eyes
and stick your head in the sand
and take your advice
from that pipsqueak band

and i'll turn the radio off

Man its so good to read you again...
and this is classic E poetry...your signature style of rhyme, lyric, angst, and attitude but always with your touching edge of humility and vulnerability.
I loved the repetative wording and theme...
So many lines in this "just" made me smile at how much of you they spoke of.....

yep..classic Ethan poetry and thats always a very good thing...like having a fave tune come on the radio.

I'm sure you get this alot when people read your poetry but this sure did hit the spot...sounds like something i'm going through right now...enjoyed this..
