Prairie grass blowing in the wind
Sunset setting in the western sky
Light breeze blowing through my hair
My head bobbing in a rhythm

My ears can hear
The plod of hooves
And the distant laughter
Of all the neighbor kids

The back of my legs are hot
They’re starting to get wet
My legs swinging back & forth
With the movement beneath me

I soon see the whip of a tail
And the bounce of a mane
Flying past us,
Determined to stay caught up

Laughing softly
While in a slow trot
Ponytail bouncing,
And hands held firm

Up a hill we go
Pushing with all our might
Get to the top & stop
Just to stare into the sky

Everything is so beautiful
While up on your back
I feel as if I could conquer the world
As long as you’re here with me!

Tell me what you think =D

suggested title...."Long Rider"

I was right there with ya...had two horses, once...and loved to ride bareback...could even jog bareback, and to open up in a gallop, theres no free er feeling...those powerful muscles beneath you, almost feeling and knowing his every move...

Greatly enjoyed this, thanks so much for the read

smiling wide, watching you ride to the top
a fine galloping write, Bailey
and I'm giving you an A+

"the bounce of a mane" could be your title

Thanks for the replies everyone! To write something not so depressing or confusing was so nice, wish I could do more of this. lol

I'm also happy I could bring back memories for everyone that has/continues to ride! The feeling is indescribable (dont think I spelled that right). I have been riding my whole life and have yet to see a day I did not enjoy it.

p.s. glad you liked it midnitesun =P.. ill work on that senryu (thats the name isnt it??) later
