Countless the rings that told of age
this weathered oak that stood alone.
Bearer of dreams that fill one's page
beside the babbling waters stone.

A glinting blade would carve through skin
and brand eternal love that grew.
Two hearts as one that will suspend
amongst the limbs where ravens flew.

Succeed the supple skin of sapling
Encroached in winter's frigid grappling
Grown strong and tall, be leaves et all
Through lightning strikes, and harvest ball
Bend with the wind, stretch high blue sky
Carved forever true my love and I

The girth of limb and legacy
Remembers time endearingly
Two lovers met eternally
Beneath the fine broad canopy
And from this kiss a child to grow
To climb the lookout's highest crow
Though gravity pulls heartily
The worth of limb indelibly

Their souls rejoiced amongst the earth
as each did touch and stroll away.
Conjoined, two rings at wedded birth
a circlet three in Springs display.

Left there to stand this castle be
imagined long by young and old,
a pedigree and dynasty
forever young...the story's told

This is wonderful.  I have tender memories associated with Oak trees and the story your poem weaves brought them all to the fore.  Thank you!
