Yet

this isn’t the first time
I have misunderstood it all

today I find myself
weaker than I have ever been
and stronger than I ever was

I have made friends of enemies
and enemies of friendly ones

there are times that no tear drops
will ever wash away the pain

yet,
I have never been
the type of woman
to mince my words

but in this hour
happiness rings
in tones of sad

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

I am so glad you do not mince your words,  Helen.
They make for the best kind of poetry,
and for so many feelings I misunderstood, and finally understand.

Well I was gonna quote on my favorite parts, but shoot... I like it all so well that I would have basically just copied the entire poem here... lol

This is wonderful, and it says so much about you, as well as other women.

Thanks for sharing

Yes it seems there is some pain that no teardrops can wash away but no shame in trying.
