Listening to every heart

0 posted 2005-05-13 08:24 PM

The First Days…

Never one to just lurk, and barely making
small sounds,

I watched, intent, quiet, at
the every day people, every day, coming,
and going,
and leaving behind,
life, and love, friendship, and trust…

my fingers could have walked on by,
but I lingered, a want to say hi
and would never know more
unless I could

submit…
the words…
unheard…
but seen…

and into the scene of blue on blue…
I came to know
you, and you…when in
those first days of a vast unknown…you

brought me into a poets home.

Several years have swift flown by
still I meet, eye to eye, newer words
that could have flown…

had I not settled into this home…

thus I hope that you are one
that was gently welcomed by someone
who has known the pleasures
and the treasures, true,
of this home of passion,
in these halls of blue.

~*~

Ron, for so many reasons, thank you.

and with special thanks
to The One & Only...for a boost...

And Martie, yours will follow close behind...

it's true, I should have held this back for then, but it's now, and again, I have many reasons to thank Ron for structuring a poets home with such high regard for integrity, feelings, senses, and that unsayable need to transform one's self into a voice...

even if a quiet voice...

I sincerely believe that PiP, Ron's home, will last far and away longer than many other poets' places...because of his beginnings, and this home's beginnings...

and as any community, it needs forethought, guidance, tolerance, compassion, understanding, and cleanliness...

and that is why those who sign up for a tour as a Deputy Moderator can make such a difference in our little world...

and such a vast and expansive world it is!

all in their very own places,
each and every with lovely faces...

And I thank you for the welcome you gave me when first I wrote. I still hesitate to post "poetry" but I am an avid reader.  martyjo

Karilea, not only did your poem touch my heart, but so did your response to Martie.

I am forever grateful to Ron for the home that he has made (and maintains!) for we Pipsters ~ and for your continuing dedication for keeping the house clean and orderly!

Cheers to our Master and to the Mistress of our blue house!

You've drawn a fine portrait of warmth and love.  Well said and finely written.  Ken
