Between the Lines

The Touch

I listened to the breathing,
a pattern new to me
wondering
what your sleepthoughts were like.

I closed my eyes
for only a second or two
wanting instead to watch
the movements in your face.

Because I do...
I let you...in silence,
controlling the spark within,
waiting to brush the sleep aside
letting earlier wordplay
fashion my day.

~~*~~

I weave your touch into my hair
grasping the moment,
twisting the strands
between fingers
remembering...

M

Very sweet. It is nice to bask in those wonderful memories sometimes.
