There are days..when her voice    her smile we recall...
Like today...was it she   laughing
             just down the hall ?
Sweet memories bring her ever near
Days her image flashes so very clear

The chestnut eyes and auburn hair...
And how she danced with such a flair!
With the love of her life
              always by her side

     ...ooooh but

the pain on his face
              the day she died.

They're both gone now....together once more
"Is it you?" she spoke..into the eyes she adored.

Perhaps they are watching from atop a far cloud
       smiling now at their daughters
             and feeling so proud.

For Enchantress and Nightshade have weathered the storm
Two young hearts mended after being so torn.
The loss of a mother at such a young age...
One would think we'd be hateful
                     or so filled of rage.

But God had his reasons
....though at the time not so clear
And, the two young sisters grew ever so near.

So, when there are days    like today   we remember
Just how short they become....
         when they reach September.
As 'their song' comes floating back into our minds
Mom and Dad please know..we are both doing fine.

              You see
There are days..like today   we hold dear...
whispering...
"Happy Mother's Day Mom"...
while smiling through tears.

... and smiling through tears is what is happening here too, dear Nancy.

This is so soft and so full of love, a very beautiful way to remember your Mother.

Love and hugs.

Thank goodness
you both inherited her spirit
to embrace each other
with the strength it took
to weather
the storm.

Nancy, dear Nancy. Your words spoke to the very soul of this reader. I pray with every ounce of my being that both my parents live to see another Mother's/Father's Day as they are both gravely ill.

Your mother must be very pleased and proud of both you and Chris as she smiles down from Heaven.

You truly are a poetess blessed with a divine gift.

Sending love to all three of you,
Linda
