the other side of r' town where the viet man sells his gold and his golden waits behind dark glass with her plastic buddha we drank the bitter tea and spoke of 68 before we were brothers of a road that goes nowhere when we were warriors with different crosses but the same prayers and day dreams of oceans that would drown the same nightmares ______________ dark (scribblenote: Republic of Viet Nam class of 68 accidental reunion off of the 101 in Reseda town..@ thai bar joey's) |

Use to have family friends in Reseda... remembering now a time of youth and innocence while the big brothers were off to a far away place... with prayers being the only link... when the folks didn't realize that even kids watched the nightly news. for this heartbreaker of yesteryear, DS... Thank you. |

Let's see...Under the Boardwalk had just been released... The visit in Reseda well over 40 years ago... Streets were wide in the neighborhoods, but the blacktop could bubble at times...and the trees were old and spread wide their shade... we'd dare to "walk" across the street...but the blacktop would get too hot... so we'd take the transistor radios over to some huge oak tree with arms sprung wide, and dance to those sounds of down by the sea...oh yea... in our thongs...flip-flops, nowadays... yep...sweeping me down memory lane...thanks for the push... |
