Fresh dew that sparkles on the lawn
With rainbow's irridescent hue
Brings thoughts of you in early dawn.

Such memories to dwell upon
Are brought alive with morning's new
Fresh dew that sparkles on the lawn.

The gentle sound of bird and fawn
As nature greets the world anew
Brings thoughts of you in early dawn.

Perhaps the mists of Avalon
Are touched by God to make this brew
Fresh dew that sparkles on the lawn.

Your beauty was surpassed by none
And it is right that morning dew
Brings thoughts of you in early dawn.

Though years have passed since you are gone
As is the life that we once knew
Fresh dew that sparkles on the lawn
Brings thoughts of you in early dawn.

Michael, these words glide through the mind in such a fluid motion, I am truly reminded of a waltz.

This is absolutely wonderful ... the rhyme, the cadence ... oh my. You sure know how to make this gal's day. What a beautiful piece my 'Deer!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

My thanks to you all! I have always enjoyed villanelles for the rhyme scheme and the difficulty of making them interesting with so many repeating lines. Thank you for enjoying it

Oh boy oh boy, would I be a happy Dutchie if someone would ever write a poem like that for me.

You certainly have a romantic heart Deer and you're right, the Villanelle is such a beautiful form to write in.

Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

What better way to write anew than to use a great theme into a great format... You're the bestest, Balladeer..

I like the unexpected twist at the end too - Got any more good stuff hiding up that sleeve?
