I Wish It Would Rain

I feel the emptiness returning,
acceptance to replace the throbbing
that too much thinking (and the weather)
produces at the temples.
There are no promises
to be kept or made
and the silence is sometimes
more soothing than words.

I see double this morning,
the past and the past, both
side by side, a widescreen view,
a path already taken
leading to now, where
abandonment feels natural.

I miss my reasons for living,
those taken too often for granted,
never having had to think because
each morning offered the lessons
of another day.
Each morning, the day before
was behind you and tomorrow
always looked promising.

How I wish it would just rain...

M

A cleansing rain is always a blessing... We had our share this week, but the sun's out now.  I'll send it your way...

Thank you Dave...I happened to have had  a somewhat(if that is possible) migraine yesterday when I awoke...making me thoroughly ill... and all I wanted was the rains to come to get the pressure off my body

and today...well it's raining and I am just sulking because I still can't function well

Thank you again
M

Your headache has produced a passionate write, dear Maureen, even though melancholic.

Love, Margherita
