So shattered stone Through the contractions of ice And the wear of ages ancient click tick Before time measured hands of circles Yet after there crawled slime from sea This is sand To mingle free within the confines of earth Or travel wingless battering burn of storms Abrading bearing smooth the rough face Of fractured forms split to vertices of angles Unable to move or cry the wane of eons songs Still I wonder How long How long the song is sung with veins that run Constricting throats that choke in dust Coughing up the silicates left From broken glass Stuttered sweep of wind Move Tuscan dun one grain before One at the end to undulate the lay of horizons And bury again igneous faces. So black the night That holds So hard the earth To even roots of stone |

Still I wonder How long How long the song is sung with veins that run Constricting throats that choke in dust Coughing up the silicates left From broken glass ~*~ Long enough that inherently we look to the windsong of our past, knowing something bigger was always out there... to leave us feeling small. Well done, Sir! |

Ron "This is sand To mingle free within the confines of earth Or travel wingless battering burn of storms Abrading bearing smooth the rough face Of fractured forms split to vertices of angles Unable to move or cry the wane of eons songs" Amazing how you did this! |

To toss those stones into a tumbler and let the shine mirror back the beauty as you have done in this poem. Beautiful write. |
