I’ve shattered too many mirrors Making many years of luckless being So I drown in shards of sorrow; Impale me and leave me bleeding Covered only by the darkness Till morning burns my flesh away. When brittle bones and dry marrow Lay before your path of tears, Crush them underfoot without looking down, Don’t let the crunch build your fears Of walking on the rough ground Of pains and bloodstains on broken glass, For like the time of darkness It’s a path you’ll pass. There are tolls on that road -- and there are ways off it for the lucky to find. They're hidden behind some of those unbroken mirrors. |
