Someone
is burning leaves;

the best smell
of Fall,
childhood memories
in the air:

toys,
boys
who never die
in wars that end
by supper time,

a bicycle
ridden
to where you live...

Someone
is burning leaves.

Perhaps the sense of smell is one of the under-rated ones but it sure does bring back memories if we pay it enough attention as you have done here.

The sense of smell
is most valuable to
recollection and
anticipation.

Well done.
