Sand Castles Sand castles built, left long ago within the silt of ocean’s flow, have disappeared and now we know what’s gone shall never last. The tides that came have brought us here to gaze upon another year and watch we did as things thought near went fading into past. Where are the days that once we knew still held us close and made us new? Could they have vanished in here too where all our dreams are cast? And digging deep within the core of all that was and was once more, I saw what had been seen before-- The pieces here amassed. Familiar ways -- Familiar strains beheld all here within our brains, though scavenged through, still lost, remains within our oceans vast-- Sand castles that won’t last. Lighthouse Bob |

No, sand castles do not last. However, we can still enjoy them in our mind's eye ~ and in our hearts. A fine piece of poetry, Dear House of Light. EA |

The constant flow of life holds everything and nothing, we look back, we look ahead, yet we live in the now of infinite possibilities. Dear Bob, this is a melancholic piece, beautifully done and thought provoking. Love, Margherita |

Earth Angel, Yes, in our minds and hearts they do certainly remain as they once where and I do think at times that this (relationally) is what causes us to have some conflict between what is real and what is fantasy. Thank you for your kind reply. -Bob |

nakdthoughts, Thank you for noticing and for reading my poem out loud. I do enjoy reading poetry out loud and I do try to attain a certain quality most of the time in this area when I write. Again, thank you for noticing. -Bob |
