Clouds shake water from their fleece,
Splashing  boards and windows (no set rhythm.

Wind plays tenor-harp through limbs;
But it does not quicken steps of lovers

Passing) faces streaked... (rain down necks,
Does not dilute the moment, doesn't cool their heat.

Stopping) rubbing cheek to cheek, (a long held kiss;
Makeup smears on a five o'clock shadow.

funny how your "not smart enough to come in out of the rain" when your in love. seems loves grip makes all things fade to the distance as it carries you to drink deeper in another. nice write Ford

This is a rainy day I sure wouldn't mind having!
Very nice. Vivid.

These two lines would stand very beautifully even alone.

You caught the atmosphere so very well!

I much enjoyed this soaking imagery. Hmmm, now you have me wanting to stroll in the rain.

Thank you for the kind replies...

The weather this week reminded me of summer, very warm for February..and this old scene poped into my mind...

The original is a tanka..

Waste not time, lovers
Do not cease, coo and billing
Doves in pouring rain

Take heed, time is short,
Linger, touch, ignore weather

But I changed the form to what shows in this post..

Ford

Love makes all things lovely!  Your imagery took me to see this scene with clarity.  As always, you write so well!
