Sail On, White Dove!

Oh, hail the dove, her freedom wings
That to the skies more beauty brings
Her feathers trace transparent trails
Of swirling breezes as she sails

So silently her wings define
The course of winds that flow through time
And tap a sweet poetic muse
To sketch her face in sunset hues

And in the twilight of her eyes
Her wing tips brush the starlit skies
And write her words with feather pen
That we may read her life again

Sail on, White Dove, to better skies
Behold her phrases as she flies
Look upward from this scornful ground
For all her words are heaven bound

Oh, hail the dove, her freedom wings!
And listen to the joy she brings!

Liz

Your poetry is always so very beautiful and filled with the grace that belongs only to you.  I know Rebecca would be pleased with this poem in her honor.

Lady Santos,

The beauty of your words
stems from the light you knew
as love...

Such a tribute to Rebecca...

Thank you.

Liz, you caught her spirit well in this poem m'friend.  I was at her site today and yesterday and did you know you are on it?  I loved seeing two of my favorite people in one place like that.  The poem you wrote "Gently As The River Flows" belongs there now.
