Five hundred years ago another woman wept this moon "puce" she said, to no one there knowledge of the blood platoon in the hollows of the clave of the yearning digging grave ripping at the mask she craved an audience of none she wept burying her future there where none would ever deem to tread: "Take these tears and sanctify the ground that cursed them and my sweat take my heart and let it bleed I swear that all will know regret who ever bore a soldier son." She spat into her palm and played the mud of blood to temple mount, and bitter spat her anger then begging for a body count-- less one-- the one who was her son-- And then the Earth was chilled. "Why?" she rocked. "For what?" she cried. "Laws of such are fancy lies and sons of other mothers died-- the knowledge is no comfort, I pray that I die too." Five thousand years of moon another woman sank to knees digging claws so desperately another son had died too soon. She wove a solar cross for him-- stick-man-soul to live again. She tore her nails beyond the quick blood was dripping from her grip to find the measure of her tears she wept to meet the face of fears reprised within the eyes of love staring back in dull. She wept. One less soldier One less son One less man to stand with gun. One less name to carry on to bend the lines of map. * * * Five hundred years from now I will not be here to beg for the life of my own child or lineage of circumspect-- crosses planted in the field-- trees of fruitlessness, I beg selfish in this here, the now, the war of moment let it be Let my boy come home to me-- one less soldier one more son. |

war is a very ugly thing, which brings out the worst in all involved...wishing things could be settled in another way, and something which tugs at our hearts and minds. Very emotional write, well done. |

This was one of those, that I don't know where it came from... but it wasn't fun to write. I'm sure it wasn't much fun to read either, so I appreciate very much your time and attention. thank you |

Karen, Again your raw emotion shows through. To harness this would be the means to sculpt something monumental, I believe , might we not do this yet? |

Dear Sweet Karen, =========================== Five hundred years from now I will not be here to beg for the life of my own child or lineage of circumspect-- crosses planted in the field-- trees of fruitlessness, I beg selfish in this here, the now, the war of moment let it be Let my boy come home to me-- one less soldier one more son. =========================== How I felt the intense emotion of this piece. Almost more than this broken heart could endure. You are a sweet, sweet mama and I feel your pain. And I love you for it. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Oh K . . . this was penned from the heart of Mary herself . . . for every mother and parent, most importantly, every child. This is stunning. Beyond . . . words here . . . |
