Step by step and breath by breath I dance the dance of mortal beings and ‘tis a swirl and dizzy spin as months lead on into the years. The music plays and partners change until alone I dream the dreams of lovers young and moving on into the twilight of their lives. How mournfully the old in me bemoans the now so shallow breath and slowness of a once quick step in spin and swirl of hopefulness. And would I sleep and suffer less? No, not yet, now comes the test of breathing less and feeling more and dancing heart more gracefully. From reflections of a bygone age comes the knowing now of more and the privilege of tuning in to compassionate response. As months pass on into the years I feel the fall of tears to floor but some remain to force my hand up to the clearing of them all … and still I clear most every day because only love can close the door on all that’s gone before! Thank you, Dixie, but you're still one of those young ones moving on - you just need to believe it. |

Thanks EV2 - This is merely my spur to now attempt to turn the clock back ... and it has to go further back than yours. Whew! I'll probably have a heart attack. |
