Listening to every heart

Seatscape

It is a patient waiting, to know that one, or more
might share this bench in the spring,
fall, or summer months

when daffies dill, bronze skins begin, or later
when leaves are counted in their drift, easier
to count than hairs
on one’s head…more colorful…

it is a enduring wait, I am anxious with eagerness
so I wonder, if I were to sit, twice, imprinting some
behind the mind thoughts…

would you know that you are welcome,
anytime?

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

Smiling at this -

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

That bet....would be a sure thing. You made quiet an imprint here, even without sitting....

A fun play with words here is your title and I really enjoyed your comparison of leaves with hair... this is very very funny and true. (Smiles) ...and what is that poking though the bench? A bush or simply something left up to our own discretion? Enjoyed reading. -Bob

Karilea/sissie

I would love to sit with you on that bench, even now with it's cold thought of seatprint...but especially in spring!

The Bench

So innocently it beckons
To those who wander by
Depending on the time of day,
The weather and your time,
You will accept the call.

It speaks of days gone past,
Of others it has beckoned to.
A mother and a child,
An elderly gentleman
Who sat to rest awhile.

A woman of a certain age,
A smile across her face.
Ah, but of all those who
Have succumbed to the invitation,.
To sit and rest.
It is “the lovers” that I recall.

Not young, but elderly,
Who sat there and gazed into each other’s eyes.
Married many years?
Perhaps in this day of longer lives,
Could they be newly weds?

I like to conjure up
A story of people who sat there before.
And see a picture forming of those,
Who have filled  their box of memories.

The one I like the most,
A couple no longer young,
But with hearts bent in that direction
Who choose to walk that path.

And sat upon that bench.
They talked of planting,
A small flowering plant
To grow silently, as a testament of their love.

Sunshine, could not help myself.Loved the photo. marty

To all of you, and especially, Marty...who added a poem of her own, I thank you.  I have a bit of bite from the "novel" bug right now, so if I "poof" myself for a while from writing my form of poetry, well, you'll all understand, right?  Write.  Just, write.

Because what I do?  Is because of all of you.

because of us?  Hmmmm...  Yes,  we do bring
to lips the thoughts that fill our glass to
brimming over and bubbling, don't we?

Keep with it Dear heart....dang the torpedoes,  full speed ahead
