A Winter Morning |

In the morning when I wake, Oft times before the Sun can break From the lengthy winter night I walk the rooms without light Amidst the shadows that are barely there Through the windows that the cold streets share. I don’t really need to see To fix my morning coffee, A flip of a button And it’s begun. So I sit in the chair and wait With visions sleeping couldn’t sate Rolling through my mind Before the day’s reality can blind With actions and emotions brought Then those dreams will be forgot. The coffee’s done And dreaming is done With a careful sip Across a lonely lip. Gloom |

Thank you, Ice, High praise indeed, The great Baltimore Poet was Poe. I posted a rewrite more in his style. Thank you, LeeJ, Pleased you enjoyed, your response warmed me Thank you, Copperbell, Glad you enjoyed, Things have been busy of late With change of careers and some travel Finding little time to write And I apologize for my lack of responses of late.
