Carved mental illusions
Whittled away with life
Hardwood of petrified looks
Shunned fruit barking naked
Pedestal upon man’s imagination.

Firewood crackling scented fire
Flaming rings logged in hours
Departed essence incinerated to ashes
Embers glowing in what was lost
Scattered about to never have been.

Decayed rotten, mildewed existence
Falling apart in slimy fibered slime
Upchucking natural decaying process
Slimy slugs and crawling demise
Moss of the dam-p side of living.

Sculptured ghosts of wind abrasions
Skeletal remains of centuries past
Twisted concoctions of natural beauty
Baked bleached white scorching
Picked clean to the bone of survival.

Grains of unique polished ideas
Waxed to a slippery mirrored sheen
Carpentry of mind woodworking
Churning lathe of legs supports
Tabletop layered in family heritage.

Cellulose fibers pressed in submission
Wooden shelves supporting imagery
Layered binders of hidden interpretations
Manipulating minds of retrospection
In--sight of vintage intoxicated pages.

Knot of twisted determination
Branched out in free movements
Claiming the air of independence
Rooted might of Nature’s support
Falling proud to the bulldozer.

Lighting amputated limb
Leaving leaves to wilt
Chain saw of severing remains
Saw dust scattered to the wind
Buried in graves of omission.

Musical vibrations of Stradivarius strings
Meditative flickering, radiant imagery
Scented wood of sensory stimulation
Moonlight glow of soothing introspection
Rustling mind pondering worded images.

Very powerful!  I do agree.

But the following verses really struck home:

"Lighting amputated limb
Leaving leaves to wilt
Chain saw of severing remains
Saw dust scattered to the wind
Buried in graves of omission.

Musical vibrations of Stradivarius strings
Meditative flickering, radiant imagery
Scented wood of sensory stimulation
Moonlight glow of soothing introspection
Rustling mind pondering worded images."

Thanks for sharing.
